Review - TruForce Collectibles Mega Man X-Boost (SDCC 2016 Exclusive)
The final variant of TruForce Collectibles Mega Man X figure is X-Boost. Sold as an exclusive at San Diego Comic Con 2016, This variant is based on the full armour (also known as the Light Armour) from Mega Man X1. This powered up form of X is so energy consuming that he can only hold this form for 10 seconds, meaning it's used only in the most dire of situations.
Of the 4 versions I think X-Boost has the best color scheme. It's dynamic and eye catching. I absolutely adore the lime green accents that have replaced the light blue from the original. The metal flake dark blue pairs extremely well with the glossy whites and light blues on the rest of his body and armour. The yellow chest plates and booster packs stand out and add a touch of Gundam hero motif to the final layout.
The tampograph details are present on this version as well and are done in black to contrast the white armour which really pops.
X-Boost comes with all the same accessories as the other releases, with the modular effect piece molded in a bright pink/red similar to the spiral crush shot from X1. I would have liked to see a custom effect piece for this version but seeing as how it's an homage to the Light Armor from X1, rather than an exact reproduction I think it's OK to keep the standard effect parts.
