Mini Review - Transformers Legacy Road Hauler
The lost Constructicon, turned Autobot, (Road) Hauler is here! Road Hauler is part of the Transformers Legacy: Velocitron Speedia 500 Collection which is exclusive to Walmart.
The Goodies (+)
+ Gorgeous colors. Neon green and black is always a win.
+ Super fun, intuitive transformation.
+ Great articulation. Great silhouette. Peak “Transformers” style.
+ Flip around fists allow for accessories to peg in directly.
+ Tolerances are improved from the original usage of the mold (Grapple). No more broken pegs!
+ Tons of accessories for a main-line release. Lots of mounting points as well!
The Baddies (-)
- The screaming head sculpt, while dynamic, is not ideal as the only option. An alternate head or face would have gone a long way.
- Gaps in the forearms. Folding panels would have gone a long way to complete the look. Wrist swivel would also have been appreciated.
- Exclusive to Walmart. May not be easy to find for all collectors.
Final Thoughts
I absolutely love this figure. I actually held off since I heard about the issues with Grapple, so this is my first experience with the mold. The transformation is amazing, clean, and intuitive. Articulation is fantastic. This guy is a great example of the Transformers idea in work. Great vehicle, cool robot, lots of fun features. It doesn’t get much better than this.
